Two people have been confirmed dead and four others severely injured following a road accident that occurred along Tororo road in Mbale District. The accident involved an Isuzu Lorry truck registration number UBJ 284 U that knocked down a Boda Boda leaving both the rider and passenger dead. The four other victims were traveling on the truck loaded with bricks from Tororo heading to Mbale which lost control and overturned hence knocking down the boda boda. The yet-to-be-identified victims were severely injured after one of them lost one of his legs and the other sustained a fracture who have then been rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment. Speaking to Time Fm, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika confirmed the incident adding that the bodies of the deceased have been taken to Mbale City Mortuary for postmortem. He, however, noted that Police is carrying out investigations into the matter and also identifying the victims. Mr. Taitika has therefore appealed to motorists to have discipline on the road to avoid accidents.
