Two people have been confirmed dead while Three others have sustained severe injuries following an accident that occured at around 5:30 am in Nasenyi Mile 5 along Mbale Tirinyi road.

The incident happened after a Toyota Noah registration no UAY 740k from Mbale with occupants heading to UCU Mukono campus for graduation rammed into a broken down truck parked by the roadside.

Residents around the area attribute the cause of the accident to the negligence of the truck driver whom they say has left the vehicle abandoned along the busy highway noting that several similar incidents have happened around the same spot this week as a result.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Mbale City Mortuary for postmortem while those who sustained injuries were rushed to Mbale regional referal hospital for treatment.
