A 40yr old woman and a resident of Kassambya, Watuba parish, Kikandwa sub county in Mityana district has been arrested for stealing a one day old baby from Mityana hospital.

Nakalanzi Prossy is said to have stolen the baby on tuesday  25th/10/2022 at around 4:00pm from Mityana hospital and police was immediately alerted.

It is alleged that the newborn baby was stolen from the mother Namutebi Aisha 20yr, 4 hours after delivery.

According to ASP Racheal Kawala, the Police PRO Wamala region, the suspect was tracked down by police task teams and later arrested in the home of Nanfuka Costa of Kyengeza village, Malangala Sub County in Mityana district.

She said the suspect shall be charged with aggravated trafficking in children.
