Police in Manafwa district have begun investigating circumstances under which a body was found floating on river manafwa.

This morning (wednesday) september 21st 2022, area residents walk up to the body of the district councilor representing Buwagogo Sub County ,Manafwa district floating on water, just a few meters away from his home.

Julius Wambede, one of the area residents, said they were shocked to find a body floating on that huge mass of water and called on security to intensify investigations.
He said the situation has created fear among them.

Police identified the deceased as Nicholas Mukweli, a resident of Buwagogo Sub County in Manafwa district.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson said investigations into the incident are ongoing.
