Police recover abandoned bomb in Mbale City

Mbale City Police has recovered a bomb that had been abandoned at Malukhu housing Estate, Sironko Cell in Mbale City.

Area residents who found the strange looking item from scrap, put it in a green polythene bag (Kaveera) by the roadside before alerting security from Bus park police post in Mbale City who came to their rescue.

While speaking to time fm this Afternoon (Monday), the officer in charge of bus park police post Omoding Moses said that the explosive device has been taken by bomb experts from Bugema army barracks and police for further management.

“The suspected bomb was recovered from scrap at Malukhu housing estate, in Mbale City and with the help of a joint security operation it has been recovered ”.

Police commended the residents for reporting the matter to Police and urged them to continue reporting strange looking things they come across to the police.

In the recent past police has recovered a number of explosive devices throughout the country that have even claimed innocent lives.
