One killed,two injured in fuel station robbery

One person has died while two others are nursing critical injuries sustained in a robbery that occured at Bukedea Petro City Petrol Station,Bukedea district. .

Daniel Esipan, the acting manager of Petro City Fuel Station, Tom Omoto, a pump attendant and Ivan Masete, the station security guard were critically injured after being shot at last night, Sunday, 25th September, 2022 at around 9:00PM.

Oscar Gregg Ageca, the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman says that the assailants made off with an unspecified amount of money, mobile phones and other property .

Ageca said that the manager succumbed to the injuries on his way to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital while the other two are admitted at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital with serious injuries.
He revealed that they have so far arrested a soldier, Lawrence Otingole of the 41st Battalion in Moroto to aid investigations which are currently underway.

It is believed that an unidentified person snatched the Askaris Gun which was then used to for the robbery at the station .

Sam Odeke, an area resident said government should deploy UPDF in all police stations since most police officers have failed to perform their duties.
