Mob kills one in Sironko district

Police in Sironko district are investigating circumstances under which a mob lynched an unidentified man on accusations of stealing fresh coffee berries .
It is alleged that the deceased stole the berries from kyalule village,Bukumbale parish lulena sub-county prompting an angry mob to set his body on fire.
The incident which occured this morning-tuesday October 18,2022 was reported to the Police by Makwasi Peter the Bukumbale Parish LCII chairperson .
Rogers Taitika the Elgon region police spokesperson told Time FM that the deceased sustained a deep cut on his head following mob action before his body was set ablaze.
Taitika said the crime scene was visited by detetectives from the homicide desk and the district Soko who recovered fresh Coffee berris of about 6kg and a motorvehicle tyre .
He said no arrests have yet been made in connection to the incident however investigations are still on going to get the culprits adding that People should desist from mob action when dealing with such situations.
The body has been taken to Mbale regional refferal hospital for postmoterm.
