Medical Intern in Mbale on the run for taking a bribe

Police in Mbale City is searching for a medical person attached to Mbale Regional Refferal Hospital for asking for a bribe.
The Intern Doctor only identified as Simwoni is said to have asked Anthony Mutenyo, a resident of Northern City Division in Mbale for Shs 100,000 /= to release the corpse of one of his relatives for burial.
The deceased had been admitted at the hospital for a week before he died.
The Mbale Resident City Commisioner Ahamad Washaki said he instructed the police to arrest the intern after getting information from mutenyo that he was asked for a bribe.
“After this doctor refused to discharge the body, Mutenyo called me asking me to help him with the Shs100,000 so that he could take the body of his relative home for burial.
By the time the RCC got to Mbale hospital to effect doctors arrest, he had already escaped and his know nubers were switched off.
However, Patrick Kumili, the Senior Hospital Administrator at Mbale regional referral hospital urged the public to always report doctors who ask for bribes from them before giving services.
