Manafwa police is investigating a case in which bitter residents of Bumateyo cell lynched a 20 year old man for stealing beans. 

The deceased identified as Wokuti Patrick (20 yrs), was a resident of Bumateyo cell, Bugobero Ward Bugobero Town council, Manafwa District.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect was allegedly seen loading the beans from the store of a one Munyalo Jamada which angered community members who mounted a search for the suspect and lynched him.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, says the scene of crime was visited by the evidence response team headed by the District Police Commander  Waiswa Najib.

Taitika said no arrests have yet been made in that regard adding that the deceased has been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem
