One person has been confirmed dead after being buried by a landslide which hit four sub counties in Bulambuli district.

The resident of Sasa Village, Bumasobo Sub County only identified as Mako got buried yesterday, 11th September while tending to his garden.

According to Geoffrey Bayola, the Resident District Commissioner of Bulambuli district,said the affected sub counties are Bumasobo, Soti, Simpondo and Buluganya.

The landslides happened after a heavy downpour which lasted two days beginning Saturday 10th September 2022.

Emmanuel Masuba, one of the area residents, says that other properties which have been buried by the landslide are animals, crops like tomatoes, cabbage, and coffee.
