Government has provided transport for special groups in Mubende

The government has provided vehicles to transport medical personnel, teachers, and learners in Mubende district.

The Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, said that the government deployed vehicles in line with the presidential directive that restricted the movement of public and private vehicles after Mubende and Kassanda districts were placed under a 21 days lockdown by President Museveni on Saturday.

Dr Aceng asked people not to use any other private vehicles apart from those deployed by the government.

The minister made the remarks on Tuesday while touring Kirwanyi in Madudu sub-county, Mubende district to establish how the authorities are implementing the presidential directives.

Dr. Aceng said all schools and health facilities in Mubende shall be given temperature guns as one of the mechanisms to detect signs of Ebola.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine observed that Madudu sub county has a high population of about 100,000 and that combined with other areas, it qualifies to be a health center III which is an upgrade from the current health center II.
