Food aid worth 50,000 US dollars has been donated to the people of Karamoja for distribution.

While flagging off the food donation , the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Mrs. Janet Museveni said the donation is to support the people of Karamoja who are struggling with famine.

She explained that the donation was pledged by Huawei Technologies Uganda to the First Lady at the beginning of August to help with the purchase of beans and maize flour.

The First Lady flagged off the food distribution at a function held at State House Nakasero immediately after the delegation led by the Vice President of Huawei Southern Africa Region Mr. Zheng Peng (Mars) officially handed it over to her.

Dr. Mary Goretti Kitutu, the Minister of Karamoja Affairs and the Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs Ms. Agnes Nandutu witnessed the whole process.
