The family of the late legislator Bishop Patrick Okabe are yet to decide on who will take on the fathers mantle as member of parliament(MP) for serere county.

In a press release seen by Time Fm this morning the family acknowledged the daily overflowing love and condolence messages of encouragement emanating from everyone.

The release further states that appropriate considerations are being accorded to it at family level and soon after the ongoing consultative meetings, they will announce their conclusions accordingly.

They believe that decision could be reached as soon as First week of January 2023.

The deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Teyebwa fronted Emmanuel Omoding, one of the sons of the fallen Serere County MP, Patrick Okabe as his replacement in parliament during the funeral of Okabe and his wife, Christine Okabe at their home in Oburin Cell Ochapa town council in Serere district on Satuday Dec 24th.

Tayebwa presented Omoding to the mourners .

On Monday 19th Dec 2022, the couple perished in an accident along the Mbale-Tirinyi highway
