A decomposing body of unidentified man was discovered floating on River Namatala in Maku cell, Bukiti Town Council in Sironko district.

Police authorities and area leaders suspect that the unidentified man between 30-40 years was swept by the current torrential rains that have continuously pounded most parts of the mountainous district.

Wakooli Mulati, a resident of the same cell, who was heading to his place of work at about 1:00pm yesterday,says he saw the body floating and immediately reported the it to the Police.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson told Time Fm that the has beeen taken to Mbale regional referal Hospital for Postmortem as Investugations are on going.
