Church of Uganda Mbale City is embroiled in land grabbing wrangles of part of Wambwa primary school playground in Malukhu ward Mbale Industrial city division where they have put a temporary church.

The Church of Uganda is reportedly accused of grabbing part of the land belonging to the school and putting up a church thereby annoying the community.

Yesterday the developers had started erecting a fence and separating the land which is approximately two acres from the school .

The Youths councilor of Industrial city division Wilson Lukaye told Time Fm this morning that they believe the church of Uganda is conniving with some people to get a fake land title in order to grab the school land.

However the Church Authorities confirm that they are developing their land and claim that they have a freehold land Title.

Rev Can Kutosi Titus Nelson, of Cathedral church in Mbale said they were putting up a temporary church as they look for money to build a permanent one.

However the Resident City Commissioner Mbale Ahmada Washaki yesterday halted all operations on the land pending investigations into the matter .
