Police in Bududa district are holding a 22 year old woman for allegedly killing two children.

The suspect only identified as Lydia Wemesa, is a resident of Bukibumbi village, Bukibumbi parish, Bukalasi Sub County in Bududa district.

It is believed that the incident happened yesterday, 04th January 2023 when all neighbors had gone to work in their gardens.

One of the deceased children was her 5 year old biological child and the other was a 6 year old co-wife’s son.

Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has confirmed the incident saying the suspect will first be subjected to a mental test to prove whether she was mentally disturbed or not before taking her to court.

The deceased have been taken to Mbale City mortuary for postmoterm.
