Budaka residents in fear of Ebola spread

Residents of budaka district have expressed fear following the outbreak of Ebola .
A few days ago health authorities declared an outbreak of Ebola after a case of the Sudan ebolavirus was confirmed in Mubende district in the central part of the country.
A total of 16 people have so far contracted the highly contagious Ebola virus , while a further 18 people also likely had the disease, health officials said.
Now people in the eastern district of Budaka are in panic that the virus might spread to other parts of the country.
Bivan Obala a resident of Nasenyi village in Mugiti sub county is worried that Budaka as a district doesn’t have enough health facilities to facilitate many patients in case the deadly Ebola virus spreads out.
Henry Okria, a medical person attached to community based health center in budaka said they are in too much fear knowing the current Ebola strain has no vaccine.
He revealed that they are currently sensitizing the community about the same and also teaching them the preventive measures like washing hands, avoid touching on dead animals.
