By Melanie Aanyu,
Workers of a company that were previously collecting street parking fees on the streets of Mbale City have continued to do so even after City Council authorities last week awarded the tender to a different Company.
Central Investment whose contract was cancelled following a couple of meetings last week were yesterday soaked in their work as if no changes had been made.
According Mbale City Council Authorities the approved contractor Nalu Tour and Travel Agency LTD were excepted to start collecting revenue on the 16th May 2022.
Nalu Travel and Tour Limited Company sent its employees to the streets only to find workers of Central Investment ( a company whose contract was cancelled) already deployed.
Mbale City authorities are now blaming Uganda Police for failing to enforce their directive to have workers of Central Investment off the streets.
According to James Kutosi, the Public Relations Officer Of Mbale City, police of failing to push central investment workers off the streets yet they are operating illegally and saying they notified them last week.
However, Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson has refutes claims of serving the interests of politicians at Mbale city.
