Arua Hospital Staff Arrested Over Theft Of Medical Equipment

Arua central police station is holding staff of Arua regional referral hospital over purported theft of medical equipment at the facility.
Innocent Ezama, attached to the medical equipment department at the facility was picked up by police after a computer monitor and power backup went missing under unclear circumstances at the department last week.
Josephine Angucia, the West Nile Regional Police spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the suspect saying they have charged him with office breaking and theft and says the police is making effort to recover the exhibits.
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Feta, the Member of Parliament for Ayivu East constituency in Arua city has condemned the persisting cases of theft of medical equipment at Arua hospital, something he blames on lack of supervision.
This is the second time this year that police have arrested officials from Arua regional referral hospital over theft of government equipment.
