African Development Bank funds government to upgrade Namagumba-Budadiri-Nalugugu road

The government of Uganda has recieved a loan from the African Development Bank to finanace the Namagumba-Budadiri-Nalugugu road in a 39km upgrading project.
The project is aimed at improving accessibility in Eastern Uganda thereby broadening acccess to markets for agricultural produce, facilitating tourist market development and in so doing contributing to improved livelihoods via increased earnings from agriculture and tourism.
Through the project there will be tree growing street lighting,provision of non motorised traffic facilities in towns as well the improvement of Budadiri hospital theatre among others.
Alpha Wambaka a farmer from Sironko district says the tarmacking of this road will help them easily transport their goods to the market because they have been incurring huge losses due to the poor state of the road especially during the rainy season.
Mafabi Arthur an area resident said the infrastructuaral development will bring services closer to the people who have to go long distances in search for better services.
