A 32-year old man killed in a hit and run accident in Manafwa district

Police in Manafwa district are hunting for the driver of a fuel tank motor vehicle after he knocked dead a 32-year old man in a fatal accident In Manafwa district.
The accident occurred on Sunday April 17th, 2022 at Kabaale trading center along Manafwa Lwakaka road at around 9:00pm.
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson, Rogers Taitika, said the accident involved a Benz fuel tank motor vehicle registration number KCR 528A / ZF 9204 driven by a yet to be identified suspect and a motorcycle Bajaj boxer registration number UFH 916B riden by a one Wabwire Barnaby 25,
According to Taitika, the over-speeding motor vehicle lost control knocking down the Boda Boda.
Mr Taitika said that a 32-year old man identified as Peter Watsiye, a resident of Bushenya village, Nangalwe Sub-County , Bugobero Parish in Manafwa district who was a passenger on the Boda Boda died on spot and the Boda Boda rider was severely injured and was rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for treatment.
The body of the deceased has been taken to Mbale City mortuary for postmortem however, the motor vehicle has been impounded and parked at Lwakaka Kenya police border and the motorcycle at Manafwa Central Police Station pending investigations.
